It Was All A Dream - Koki Arts 2022

This exhibition, showcasing 5 new paintings, was Alteronce’ first exhibition in Asia. The exhibition title, It Was All A Dream is inspired by the opening line of the iconic hip-hop song, "Juicy" - the first single released from American rapper The Notorious B.I.G.’s 1994 debut album, Ready to Die.

Gumby’s vibrant abstract paintings also emerge from his dreams and manifestations.Through a process that involves both planning and improvisation, Gumby works with thousands of fractured glass shards as well as gemstones, pigments, and acrylic medium. His meticulously composed paintings radiate hyper-chromatic activity. As the lighting conditions change, the paintings also change. Reflections and refractions of glass and gemstones are activated upon interaction with light and motion, giving the works an intensity and unexpected vitality.

In celebration of his first exhibition in Japan, Alteronce Gumby has created the following prints with Koki Arts. You can purchase the works on Artsy.
